St Mary the Virgin

A very warm welcome awaits you in St Mary's Church, which is firmly rooted in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. Built in the 1880s by Fr. Wagner, the architect of many of the fine churches in Brighton, as a country church and retreat for his family and himself as well as the villagers. The church has strong links with Walsingham and indeed our very own 'Walsingham' chapel was built on the same dimensions as the Holy House in Walsingham, Norfolk.

Our rural church is worth a visit and we welcome other Walsingham cells to come and pray at our church and shrine, the once termed 'Nazareth of Sussex'
